Rabbi Percy Johnson (Netanel ben Yochanan) is the founder and the Spiritual leader of the Messianic Jewish Center and Rabbi of “Kehilat She’ar Yashuv”, a Messianic Jewish Congregation in Montreal. He grew up in a Sephardic Jewish home in Lima, Peru where he received his Masters degree in both Civil and Industrial Engineering. He furthered his education in the US and Canada obtaining his degree in Theology, while majoring in Political Science, Jewish Studies and Psychology.
Rabbi Johnson has devoted his life to teaching and mentoring men and women, helping them to grow spiritually and become leaders in the Messianic Jewish movement for which he has always had a great passion. His pattern of mentoring was learned through the Scriptures in the lives of Yeshua our Messiah and Rabbi Shaul, Apostle Paul who taught by being living examples. He is the pioneer of Messianic Jewish Centers worldwide. The fruit of his labor continues to flourish in Argentina, Germany, Israel, Mexico and Montreal.
His major gifting and expertise is in the areas of mediation, crisis management as well as both personal and marriage counseling. As a lecturer, speaker and counselor, the rabbi has brought new and dynamic perspectives on faith to his audiences and followers. Along with his writings on the Jewish feasts, and many articles, he continues to write a weekly Drash (teaching) on the weekly Torah portion for thereby bringing application and enlightenment of the Torah (Word) to our daily lives.
Through this experience he has gained a deeper understanding of his Jewish identity, fullness and purpose. He remains a humble and devout man of faith to the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is respected by both the Jewish and Christian communities to whom he brings new perspectives of invigorating our faith through Messiah Yeshua.
Rabbi Johnson presently lives in Montreal with his wife, Rhonda and two sons, James Nathan and David Lynn. He is a passionate speaker on the subject of Israel and the Messiah and has a sincere desire to see his people do ‘teshuvah’ (return) to the true G-d of Israel.
